...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH
FRIDAY EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued an Excessive
Heat Watch, which is in effect from Thursday morning through
Friday evening.
* TEMPERATURE...Temperatures will increase during the week with
readings 6 to 8 degrees above normal by Wednesday. However, the
hottest days are expected to be Thursday and Friday with the Las
Vegas Valley and Pahrump...potentially reaching 110 to 115
degrees...115 to 120 along the Colorado River Valley, and 120 to
125 degrees in Death Valley.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and
heat stroke will be possible. People most vulnerable include
those who are spending lots of time outdoors...those who do not
have air conditioning...young children...the elderly...and those
with chronic ailments.

Information:
An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of hot
temperatures is expected. The hot temperatures will create a
dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink
plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay out of
the sun...and check up on relatives and neighbors.
