Freezing rain and sleet will transition to freezing rain and eventually just rain by afternoon. The highest chance for ice accumulation is along and north of Interstate 88, with some potential southward to around the Interstate 80 corridor where more marginal surface temperatures will be. Occasional rain showers this afternoon will give way to more widespread rain and embedded thunderstorms this evening. Fog will spread northward as well, impacting areas mainly south of I-80 today, then potentially area wide overnight where it could be at least briefly dense.
