Light to moderate snow will begin this morning and continue through this afternoon. The highest potential for snow covered roads will be early this morning across north central Illinois, and then for all locations in the Advisory area this afternoon when the more intense snow occurs. Snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected over north central Illinois, along the I-39 corridor. Elsewhere, 2 to 4 inches are expected. The main impact is slippery conditions on untreated surfaces, which will create hazardous travel.
