| Another round of scattered showers & thunderstorms is expected to develop over the Northern AZ high terrain and portions of Southeastern AZ early this afternoon. Winds aloft shift out of the northwest, increasing odds for thunderstorms to move off the high terrain and possibly develop over the South-Central AZ lower deserts later in the afternoon or early this evening. There is a 50-70% chance for 35+ mph wind gusts near any storms that develop, and a severe storm or two cannot be ruled out, especially if they develop during the middle of the afternoon (less severity expected if closer to or after sunset). |
